New Forums

I'm liking the new forums much better. It sure is a lot easier on the eyes, I'll tell ya that much. I also like the skin change option. It's much much nicer. 8-) 8-)

Re: New Forums

Since there is no official thread for comments, I thought I could use this one :D

Pretty much all I have to say is that you did a great job with the new forums. I think it's great we don't have the old "z4.invisionfree.com" domain. I also love how I can disable smilies by default in my account settings :D

The mod tools are different to the ones I've seen in similar forums but it doesn't matter seeing that I don't think I'll ever need to use them for anything serious.

Re: New Forums

I've used the phpBB code for a few of my clients, and I think it's by far the most flexible, customizable and powerful FREE php board out there. This new platform is heads and shoulders above the invision board - and if I know our illustrious leader, he's got the security down tight. That means we'll be better off from random spammers and hacker wanna-bes.

My vote: Hell yes! - much, much better!

Re: New Forums

That brings to mind a very odd word association bit I've had for a while.

Every single time I see the letters phpBB, for some odd, sadistic reason, I always think of the word Phlebotomy. o_0

Well, let's see if we can follow that twisted path of logic in your mind on how you can connect those two thoughts:

a) Although the letters "phpBB" stand for "Perl Hypertext Programming Bulletin Board", the letters by themselves sound like someone sticking out their tongue and giving you a good razzing

b) Now, most people get angry over an unjustified display of disrespect, and sometimes they get violent. You give respect, but you damn well better get some respect back, or this good-old-boy might just open a 6-pack of whup-ass.

c) In some of these violent cases, a person might take it one step further, and attack their protagonist, hoping that they will stop that razzing. In your case, that's bound to happen in about, oh, 15 seconds after it starts.

d) If it's a good attack (especially if a club, knife, chainsaw or motor vehicle is involved), the victim will be struck hard enough to bleed, splattering blood everywhere. You'd probably enjoy the chainsaw, or maybe a crowbar.

e) We all know that in your line of education, you are always talking about "blood splatter analysis" - you are, for the most part, studying blood.

f) Ironically enough, Phlebotomy literally translates to "the study of blood"

So, you see, that's how the great mind of SlntCobra1 connects those two thoughts!

When I saw the word Phlebotomy, I thought of the word "plebeian."

Ironic, because that's exactly what Cobra is. :) :) :)

Are you calling ME a commoner? Hmmm.... I may not wield a ban-hammer or mod abilities (at least, that's as much as EagleRock thinks , hehehe...) but I am far from common. And as of right now, this whole forum seems to be the "Eagle, Byte and Cobra" show. Yay! We have the playground all to ourselves!....

Well, as of 3:30 AM on 19-June-2010, Uncle Eaggie has the most posts, I'm #2 and you're only a few behind me. So, for now, the order is E-B-S . I'm sure that's going to flip-flop time after time. We'll keep him busy just minding our posts alone. Well done, my minion, well done indeed!

Re: New Forums

Not really, I got off work at 10:30 am instead of noon because my mom and dad spent 8 hours in the ER last night, because my mom's K levels were too high, and when I got home around 9 last night, I just couldn't get to sleep. So I was up till 3:43am when they walked in the door. I didn't to sleep till about 4:45 and when I got home this morning, I freshened up a bit and napped till 3:30.

Just because I've been busy studying and partying hard doesn't mean i've left or been put out of the group...

I thought I was a main part of it too... After all... I did have 2nd to most posts on the LAST forum. Lizzy has just been a tad busy as of late :)

Yay! "Busy Lizzy" is back in the new forum! Very Cool. Been reading all your other posts - looks like you've been busy doing quite a bit of catching up. Oh, and your suggestions for some of the forum mods are very good, indeed.

Glad to see you're doing well, and that you'll have a few months on summer break to unwind.
