ByteSlinger wrote:Well, that's disappointing. Portal 2 release date has been pushed back to April 11th or so, 2011. Guess they found a few more glitches in beta testing. Oh, well - I still want to get it, anyway - but I'll wait till it's got a stable release level.

I guess I'll just have to inundate myself with CoD and Fallout until then. BOO!

It'll be a fucking really awesome game, seriously, it's the most exciting title I've heard in 2011 until now. It has great chances to be GOTY, just like Red Dead Redemption was. (At least by Gamespot's view... I think there were any game better than it, what d'ya guys think??)

Well, I just jumped on the bandwagon and pre-ordered it from Amazon.com. $44.99 + tax (less than $50)

Now, the wait begins!

I preordered from Gamestop just so I could get the bonus content. $45 plus tax gets me the coop skin with the game.

Plus, I can pick it up on the 19th right from the store rather than waiting for it to ship to me. :-P

Hey guys, you should be happy on being Americans, really.

Portal 2 ONLY (I think it's very low!) costs 50 dollars?? Fuck! Here in Brazil a new release costs even 300 Reais, that's about 150 Dollars. I could buy Portal 2 and you guys would buy Portal 2, CoD Black Ops and Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.

Just think about the massive difference... That's why piracy is a national problem here. A game that costs 100 the equivalent of 100 reais costs 300 reais here. That's a goddamn SALARY!! Just because of those damn taxes. A game here in Brazil is considered GAMBLING!!

that's ridiculous

I am quite proud to be an American. Notice basically every graphic I use has to do with either the American flag or Eagles (our national bird)? :-)

But I agree, that's a bit ridiculous. You cannot purchase the game via digital download (either on Steam or another supplier like Gamestop) in Brazil? I'd imagine the prices would be a lot less via those means.

If not, my condolences. That is a load of crap.

Also can't you just order a copy of Amazon or something if Steam doesn't work? I'm sure that Amazon would be cheaper than in the actual retail store, as it usually is.

Yeah, actually, Steam is the best option for Brazilian gamers, since I'd buy the ganes for the same prica as you. Amazon, eBay and all those other American sites are okay to buy, I'd pay the same thing, but the shipping cost is high, and if the custom house catches the game, I'd have to pay the taxes...

Steam works here, but I can't get games like GTA who are kind of "banned" here in Brazil are unbuyable (if this word doesn't exist, it means that I can't buy it. lol) via Steam, I can't even enter it's page in Steam. But, if I put it in the English mode, I can enter, but can't buy it...

And, I don't know how Gamestop works, but, like you said, if it's via digital download, I think it should be fine, then. Anyways, there's a campaign here in Brazil, they're trying to reduce the ammount of taxes we have to pay.

Also, I admire your patriotism, I think you have something to really be proud of, Brazil isn't a country people should be proud of, all the favelas, all the bullshit that happens here, it's just a shame...

Well played the shit out of the first one and will more then likely get it when I get the chance. But really took me a while to get the hang of the game bt once I did I was hooked for life. So bring on Portal 2 and see how much fun can have on that one. And see how it will compare to the first.
